| Personal Statement:I began tutoring while I was still in college and I have worked as a teacher in Holland, France and here in Los Angeles. I love teaching, but I enjoy tutoring even more because I can work one-on-one and organize the information in exactly the way the student learns. With a tutor, material is understood faster and better and much more ground can be covered quickly. I enjoy tutoring because the student gets more out of the experience. | |||

| Personal Statement:I have tutored elementary school, middle school, and high school students for four years in math (pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry), standardized test preparation, writing and grammar, and study skills. I accommodate students' individual schedules and can fit in sessions of each student’s desired length, frequency, and location. (one hour, two hours, etc.) and frequency (anywhere from once per week to daily or every other day). I tutor students at my house or drive to their houses, depending on their preference. I try to maintain low hourly rates and am always willing to negotiate. My teaching style is dependent on the individual strengths and needs of different students. I have tutored visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners in the past, and each student I have tutored has affected my approach. For example, I have helped numerous students with algebra, and some responded better to diagrams and visual instructions, while others preferred oral explanations. Although I vary my teaching style to match individual learning types, there are consistencies in my approach: first, I always emphasize students setting personal, realistic goals that I can help them work towards; second, I focus on the two-way aspect of tutoring with students asking questions and providing input as to how I can most effectively help them and to ensure that I am being clear and understandable in my teaching of material. | |||
